The Mannahelp Civic Recreation Community Garden

At Mannahelp, we’re empowering communities through food and sustainability.

Through strong partnerships with local businesses and organizations,
Mannahelp ensures that vulnerable families—including new immigrants and
marginalized communities—have access to fresh, nutritious food.

As part of our commitment to food security and sustainability, we’re proud to introduce the
Mannahelp Community Garden, located at 555 Rossland Road East, Whitby
(beside the Whitby Civic Recreation Complex). Recently approved by the Town of Whitby, this initiative
is transforming an open green space into a thriving hub where families, volunteers, and community members
can grow healthy produce, learn about urban farming, and build lasting connections.

🌱 Our Vision

  • Increase access to fresh, locally grown food.
  • Promote environmental stewardship through sustainable gardening practices.
  • Educate and engage the community in urban agriculture and food literacy.
  • Create volunteer opportunities that foster connection, purpose, and social impact.

🌿 Grow With Us – Support a Stronger, Greener Community

The Community Garden supports our food distribution program while creating a welcoming space for families,
youth, and volunteers to learn and grow together. When you secure a garden plot for just
$50 per year, you’re not only reserving space to grow your own fresh food—you’re also helping
families across Durham Region access healthy, culturally relevant produce.
